Whom do I contact if my baby has a developmental concern?
The Early Development Network serves children from birth to age three and their families. A child is eligible for Early Development Network services if he or she is not developing typically, or has been diagnosed with a health condition that will affect his or her development. Identifying such delays or disabilities usually involves both the family and a team of professionals. To find out more call: Services Coordination, ESU 3, Student Services Department at 1-800-593-3198 and someone will be happy to assist you.
My child is starting preschool soon, I feel they may struggle, who should I contact?
If your child is between 3 and 5 years, you can call your local school district’s special education director to initiate an evaluation. If your child is at least 5 years old or older than 21 years and has not graduated from high school, contact your child’s teacher or your school district’s special education director to get a student assistance team (SAT) or comparable problem-solving team started.
