ESU #3 Welcomes New Director of Student Services

New Student Services Director McKayla LaBordeESU #3 was pleased to welcome McKayla LaBorde as the Director of Student Services this past summer.  McKayla has joined an outstanding Student Services team full of dedicated professionals who support the unique needs of children birth to age 21 through a variety of grants, contracts, and specially designed services.  McKayla comes to ESU #3 with 17 years in the field of Special Education which includes classroom teaching experience at the middle school and high school levels and Program Specialist work in the San Diego, California area.

After starting a family with her husband Adam, she was happy to return home to Nebraska and continue her work supporting staff and students with disabilities as a Behavior Facilitator with Millard Public Schools and most recently as the Supervisor of Secondary Special Services in the Papillion La Vista Community Schools.  McKayla and Adam have three boys ages 5, 8, and 10 who keep them busy with activities and general mayhem.  McKayla is grateful to her many professional mentors and to her parents (who are both retired educators from North Platte, Nebraska!) for their support along the way.  She’s honored to serve school districts and children in the ESU #3 area in this new role!
