Advocacy in Action Conference
Last week, AESA members from across the country gathered in Washington, D.C., for the Advocacy in Action Conference. Along with visits to the hill, one key highlight was the opportunity for over 30 educators from ESAs across the country to meet with FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel to discuss the Universal Service Fund and E-Rate. Dr. Larianne Polk, CEO of the ESU Coordinating Council and Dr. Dan J. Schnoes, ESU#3 CEO, President-Elect of AESA, and NCSA Chair had the opportunity to share the important role that E-Rate plays for Nebraska ESUs and School Districts.
Congressman Smith with ESU #3 Directors
On Friday, October 4th, Congressman Adrian Smith from Nebraska’s 3rd District visited ESU #3. During the tour of our facilities, we were able to share information regarding the services that ESUs provide as well as examples specific to ESU #3. Congressman Smith visited our MakerSpace Lab which promotes CTE programs, viewed the ESU #3 Data Center as we discussed Cybersecurity, and spent time with students that attend our Brook Valley South School. ESU#3 Leadership Team members, Dr. Dan J. Schnoes (CEO), Dr. Scott Blum, Bill Pulte, and McKayla LaBorde were present to share the great work ESU #3 provides to our 18 districts. A big Thank You to Congressman Smith for taking the time to stop in and visit.
